The Wall Street Journal is seeking a reporter to cover the business of social media.

At a time of extraordinary tumult in this industry, this reporter would zero in on the core operations at Facebook/Meta, Snap, Twitter, TikTok and other companies that are seeking new ways to ensure continued growth in revenue and profit at a time of heightened competition and unprecedented scrutiny.

You will work closely with a team of Journal reporters who have delivered unsurpassed coverage of social media companies and their impact on society. That means the ability to collaborate is essential.

This is a marquee position, with the opportunity and expectation to deliver scoops and revelatory features about leadership machinations, new product plans, deal-making efforts and other issues at the center of how these companies operate.

You will have several years of experience covering tech and a proven track record of landing high-impact exclusive and agenda-setting enterprise stories that penetrate the surface of high-profile companies. You must be an ace at sourcing and a font of smart story ideas, someone who is capable of telling stories in multiple ways on multiple platforms.

This job is based in San Francisco and reports to Global Tech Editor Jason Dean.

If interested, please submit a detailed resume and a cover letter describing your experience and what you would bring to this job.
