WSJ seeks a reporter to cover tech and venture capital

The Wall Street Journal seeks a reporter to cover technology and venture capital, with a focus on how Silicon Valley investors and industry leaders wield their capital and influence.

The beat involves reporting on some of the most well-known people in tech as well as the financiers who work with them. We are looking for an enterprising reporter who can break news, jump in on big news stories and also develop themes of his or her own.

Candidates should be accomplished reporters with several years of beat and enterprise experience covering finance and/or business.

The position is based in our San Francisco technology bureau.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
