WSJ seeks a personal finance reporter

The Wall Street Journal seeks a writer with voice, authority and style to cover the financial lives of our readers as they start and build their careers.

The writer’s beat will be all the financial conundrums of this stage of life: buying a house, paying off student loans, getting started with investing and saving, navigating money and relationships, and exploring the new tools and pitfalls that technology brings to personal finances.

We might’ve called this person a “columnist”– we want someone with a way with words and an empathetic ear for readers — but we’re open to, and indeed encourage, a person who will engage with readers outside the format of a typical newspaper column.

The position reports to the Editor, Personal Finance & Wealth.
