WSJ seeks a news editor in Hong Kong

The Wall Street Journal’s Asia team is looking for a top-notch editor to guide stories from start to finish across its coverage areas.

This is an opportunity to be a core member of the Journal’s Asia hub, working with reporters, bureaus and coverage chiefs to shape stories in their early stages.

You should have significant experience working with reporters and the confidence to see stories through to their fullest potential. A deep respect for the facts and comfort with business and financial topics are essential.

You will:

  • Test story hypotheses, add proper context, demand proof and more reporting as needed.
  • Ensure that each piece is accurate and meets the Journal’s high ethical standards.
  • Help move stories more quickly to conclusion and improve our digital presence

You have:

  • Superior wordsmithing skills.
  • An even temperament that facilitates collaborative work.
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar role.

The position will be based in Hong Kong or Singapore and report to the Asia Editor.
