WSJ seeks a medical science reporter

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a reporter to help deepen our coverage of health and medicine.

You will find untold stories in subject matter that could range from advances in genetics and neuroscience to the latest research on Alzheimer’s and other diseases of the aging mind and body. You will also use studies and data to identify flawed medical treatments and patterns of patient neglect.

You will join a close-knit and collaborative group of science journalists covering everything from Covid-19 to climate change and space exploration. Collegiality is essential, as are the instincts to identify material with the promise to underpin revelatory journalism.

You should be full of ideas on how to approach complicated material in engrossing ways and to bring diverse voices into our work.

You should have at least three years of experience covering health or science and an interest in telling stories in new formats in addition to text.

You will report to the Health & Medicine bureau chief. While you may start the job working remotely, you will eventually be based in our New York office.

To apply, go here.
