The Wall Street Journal is seeking a talented and highly motivated journalist for a high-profile role writing about European banks, insurers, fund managers and markets for a worldwide audience for its financial and economic commentary section, “Heard on the Street.”
The columnist will be based in London, the center of international capital flows, and will have a wide purview across finance on the continent. The successful candidate will be able to generate ideas for columns and will be comfortable taking a view based on their own analysis.
This person will collaborate with colleagues based around the globe on series that touch on the industry or related financial markets.
The position reports to Stephen Wilmot, “Heard on the Street’s” European editor.
Requirements: Prior experience writing about financial institutions, excellent writing skills, industry knowledge, and an ability to write columns on a tight deadline are all a must for this role. Work or academic background in economics or finance are a plus.
