WSJ seeks a financial crime and enforcement reporter

The Wall Street Journal is seeking an experienced and enterprising reporter to cover financial crime and enforcement. You’ll need a deep understanding of finance to spot scams and unravel financial fraud. You’ll work closely with colleagues who cover enforcement agencies and with colleagues who cover financial services. You’ll have a broad remit to dig into banks, investors, traders, insurers and the crypto world.

You will report to Ken Brown, the Financial Enterprise, Risk and Regulation Editor. While you may start the job working remotely, you will eventually be based in our New York office.

You will:

  • break news on financial scams and fraud
  • write frequently and authoritatively on complex and interesting financial cases
  • probe firms, industries and individuals in the hunt for proprietary stories and projects

You have:

  • experience covering finance or a related subject
  • a background in or a facility for investigative digging
  • an ability to work collaboratively across several teams
