WSJ Pro seeks an editing chief

WSJ’s Professional Products team is looking for a seasoned journalist and editor to oversee its team of 10+ desk editors.

You will coordinate story plans and editing assignments across the Professional groups. This includes newsletter content, daily and feature stories.

You will help ensure that all Professional content meets the highest quality, adheres to WSJ standards and is publication-ready. You will work with team members to help direct audience engagement and visuals, and handle technical issues as they come up.

You should have strong news judgment and a good sense for what our audience is looking for, know how to apply SEO best practices and write headlines that will draw in readers.

You should like the challenge of a 24-hour news cycle and be keen to deliver strong stories and visuals to professional audiences. You will need to be flexible with your schedule as the desk will be operating from early morning to late evening.

You should have business editing experience in areas such as corporate finance, central banking and technology news.You must also demonstrate an ability to liaise with editors across the Professional Products team and throughout the newsroom as needed.

While you will likely start the job working remotely, you will eventually be based in our New York office. This position reports to the Professional Products Editor.
