WSJ/Dow Jones seek news editor for spot news

Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal seek an experienced financial journalist to lead the real-time news team for the Americas.

This team focuses on corporate disclosure news, quickly and expertly producing articles primarily for Dow Jones Newswires and as needed for our other news platforms, including WSJ.com. Items covered by the spot news team include earnings, executive changes, strategy announcements and other news disclosed by companies via press release and/or SEC filings.

The team also reports on significant stock price movements and other breaking news related to business, finance and economics. The Real Time Editor directs this coverage in collaboration with Newswires leaders and WSJ editors.

The ideal candidate will have wire service experience, deep knowledge about financial markets and expert insights about what defines market-moving news. Enthusiasm for fast-paced breaking news and awareness of the needs of financial professionals are essential in this role, along with a willingness to jump in and write stories when needed.

Candidates for this position must have superb news judgement, great writing abilities, and appreciate the need for speed. An ability to lead, coach and inspire a team of reporters is absolutely necessary.
