WLNE-TV, ABC6, the Standard Media-owned station in Providence, is looking for our next Multimedia Journalist/Reporter to join our team! The Multimedia Journalist/Reporter will seek out and pursue unique, impactful stories; write, shoot and edit compelling pieces; and provide meaningful live shots. We are looking for a passionate storyteller, who strives to win the story of the day and to present details in a creative way that best benefits the audience. The Multimedia Journalist/Reporter will create content for broadcast and across all of our digital platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Write, shoot and edit packages and vo/sots
- Pitch stories that have a “right now” impact
- Be involved in – and create contacts in – the community
- Write stories for all digital platforms, including our website and social media platforms
- Produce special reports as needed
- Create web-extra content
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- A curious, innovative spirit
- Experience reporting in a newsroom
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Experience shooting and editing video
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred
