Wired seeks freelance writers for the “Features” section to bring new voices, ideas and stories about the world around us.

WIRED seeks to illuminate how technology is changing every aspect of our lives—from culture to business, science to design. It is the essential source of information and ideas that make sense of a world in constant transformation.

Caitlin Kelly, Features Editor of WIRED, is looking to collaborate with freelancers for pitches. It is our goal to encourage a broad set of writers to amaze and challenge us.

If you have ideas for ambitious, thought-provoking, forward-thinking, incisive, funny, inspiring stories about the science and technology (and people!) shaping our world, please apply. Check out our selection of recent feature articles/stories here.

Our rates for shorter, online-only news stories start at $250 depending on length and reporting. These fees rise with time commitment and reporting intensity. There’s more information about the categories and what different sections are looking for in the pitch guide (below).
