Familiarity with the editing process is required, as is a professional passion for testing products yourself and enough space to manage the regular inflow and outflow of that gear. Experience (and interest in) reviewing some of the following categories of gear is ideal: laptops, PCs, PC peripherals, home office gear, bed-in-a-box mattresses, sleep tech, gaming, PC gaming, home and kitchen, parenting, security (software, privacy, locks/cameras), and sustainability.
Edit reviews, buying guides, gift guides, news/feature articles, and deals coverage each day
Help manage short-term and long-term content calendars, and help track the performance of content over time (story traffic and commerce revenue data)
Aid with research, story assignments, formatting, and image sourcing
Write and/or update 1 – 2 pieces of 900+ word content per week: a mix of full-length reviews, buying guides, gift guides, how-tos, deals coverage, videos, commerce projects, and news/feature articles
Obtain and test several types of products simultaneously in your daily life and manage the shipping of products to and from your home
Become the lead reviewer for multiple product categories, and collaborate with other members of the team
Coordinate closely with the Commerce and Audience Development teams to understand analytics data
Manage your time efficiently, self-motivate, and proactively communicate
Work with our multimedia producer to spot video opportunities and create video content
Follow SEO and affiliate linking best practices, and be comfortable optimizing for commerce revenue while putting reader needs first
This is a full-time telecommute position; remote workers residing in the United States are encouraged. It is also an interdepartmental role. You would be a member of WIRED’s Editorial Reviews team and also a member of Conde Nast’s Commerce department.
