Condé Nast is seeking a Senior Development Executive to launch and drive the content output of Wired Studios by identifying, developing and exploiting new and existing IP across a variety of media.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify magazine and digital IP that has potential for exploitation in other media, particularly long-form scripted and unscripted series and film
- Identify editorial content at the earliest possible phase for development in other (non-print) media
- Work with content editors, Condé Nast Entertainment executives and external agencies to create a road map for achieving the brand’s 3-5 year media strategy
- Mine brand archives for IP to exploit through scripted and unscripted development opportunities
- Work with business affairs and legal teams to clarify and secure underlying rights to potentially valuable IP
- Lead internal development process and work with CNE executives and agencies to create a market strategy for selected IP
- Communicate closely with external stakeholders during each step of the development/sales/production process:
- Work through and supervise implementation of each step (e.g., attaching writer and developing material, packaging talent and taking to market, supervising production through delivery, etc.)
- Create and oversee Development and Production grids to track IP progress
- Development: inception through sale
- Current: pre-production through delivery
- Liaise with publication and outside studios, platforms and industry-related groups
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and translate those trends to development/sales opportunities
- Maintain relationships with key creators and talent in the industry
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as an executive in TV/Film development/production
- Significant experience in developing and packaging TV/Film projects
- Knowledge of and affinity for Wired’s brand, material and talent
- Relationships with TV talent and buyers is valuable, but not essential
- Self-starter — Has initiative and ability to create opportunity

- Communicative — Adept at keeping disparate stakeholders informed and involved in decision making
- Detail/Process-Oriented — Able to organize and disseminate myriad types of information in a comprehensible way
