Wirecutter is looking for writers with experience with DIY smart home tech and an interest in hands on testing. We’re strongly interested in professional writers with meaningful experience with consumer-grade smart home devices.

Wirecutter is a product recommendation service on the internet that tests and reports on items to recommend the best of everything. Its goal is to save you time and eliminate the stress of shopping, whether you’re looking for everyday gear or gifts for loved ones.

  • DMing me is great with email address and maybe a couple lines about experience, etc.

  • $300- $1,500- For shorter pieces, we generally pay $300; that can increase depending on the work involved. For long-form reviews, our rates vary. An update to an existing review is around $500 (with some exceptions when an update is particularly quick or intensive), and a new review or a rewrite of an existing review pays about $1,500 depending on the amount of work required.

For more information, visit their website.

Before applying, review submission guidelines. All questions and applications, submit to Jon Chase, Lead Editor (Smart Home) at Wirecutter, via DM to Jon on Twitter
