The groundbreaking investigative news site WhoWhatWhy is looking for an election integrity fellow to join our reporting team. The election integrity fellowship is focused on journalism exposing the many ways elected officials charged with ensuring voters’ rights and honest elections, continue to fail in their duty, with ominous implications for the 2020 election. You will work from your location, learning the craft of exceptional investigative journalism from experienced editors. This is an extraordinary opportunity to learn how to be a specialized, nuanced journalist. Plus, you will earn a monthly stipend.
Expectations:
- We are looking for a passionate go-getter, who is eager to learn and already knowledgeable on or interested in the issue of voter suppression to a certain degree
- You will be expected to “own” the election integrity beat and write an average of three stories per month with the guidance and supervision of our politics editor and editorial team
- You must be willing to commit to do this job for a minimum of 6 months
- A hunger to learn and grow as a reporter
- Some previous journalism experiences
- Passion for election integrity issues, especially voter suppression
