The Washington Post is looking for a dynamic video producer/editor to join our explanatory video team covering politics. This is a role for a multifaceted storyteller who can move seamlessly among breaking news, explainers and enterprise.

We are looking for an excellent collaborator who will work closely with colleagues in Video, on the Politics desk and across the newsroom. The responsibilities of this position include producing and editing videos about political news events and issues, from quick edits of the news of the day to thoughtful and produced explainers that provide analysis and context. The ideal candidate also will report news events in the field and film interviews in the Post newsroom for their own enterprise stories.

The editor will help cover the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court, in addition to elections in 2024 and beyond, with a focus on how lawmakers and policy affect citizens in the real world.

This position requires at least three years of experience in a fast-paced newsroom, strong news judgment and the ability to multitask. Fast, proficient editing skills on Adobe products are required. This position is based in our Washington headquarters and will require occasional night and weekend work as news demands.
