Washington Post seeks Silicon Valley correspondent

October 23, 2015

Posted by Chris Roush

The Washington Post’s National Economy and Business team has an opening for a national technology correspondent based in Silicon Valley.

The reporter should be a self-starter with strong writing chops who can generate major enterprise stories, as well as jump on significant news quickly and with voice.

We have no need for run-of-the-mill stories about companies and executives; this person should write deeper takes that illuminate the powerful forces shaping technology around the world, producing the kind of work that makes a single writer stand out from the pack.

It’s akin to a foreign posting: Tell us how Silicon Valley influences the broader culture, commerce, attitudes and policy and explain it all in imaginative ways that seem relevant to the average reader.
