Washington Post seeks corporate accountability reporter

The Washington Post is looking for an experienced journalist to serve as a corporate accountability reporter on the Business desk.

This writer would investigate potential wrongdoing that affects consumers, employees and investors and explore relationships between business and government regulators.

Candidates should have a proven track record of breaking significant stories about questionable business practices and writing stand-out business enterprise. The role demands a broad skill set, including interpreting financial statements and regulatory disclosures, spotting revealing patterns in business data and developing sources.

This writer should be able to produce stories on a short- and medium-term horizon, working with others on the Business desk and around the newsroom. These stories would sometimes come in response to news events, and other times be driven by the reporter’s investigations.

Individuals interested in this role should send a resume and three clips to David Cho (david.cho@washpost.com), Zachary Goldfarb (zachary.goldfarb@washpost.com) or Tracy Grant (tracy.grant@washpost.com) by March 26.
