The Washington Post is seeking an assignment editor in features on its Style team.

The Post is looking for someone who is a versatile, experienced editor able to sharpen the copy of some of the company’s premier writers and critics on the must-read stories of the day, which build off the people, moments and ideas at the center of the cultural conversation.

The ideal candidate must possess good editing skills and experience working in a variety of story forms, including trend pieces, daily stories, profiles and narratives.

Interested candidates should upload a cover letter, résumé and memo on how you would approach the role to the Post’s jobs portal by August 21.

This position is based in the Washington newsroom and may require some weekend or holiday shifts.

The cover letter should be addressed to executive features editor Liz Seymour, deputy features editors David Malitz and Mitch Rubin and managing editors Tracy Grant and Krissah Thompson.
