Washington Internet Daily seeks tech reporter

Top-notch reporter wanted to cover Internet policy and regulation for Washington Internet Daily, an independent industry-leading subscription news service.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, thriving at a reporter-driven publication where he or she decides what needs to be covered to keep an audience of top industry and government officials ahead of the curve.

This high-profile beat includes covering the Federal Trade Commission, the Commerce Department, other federal agencies, and occasionally Congress. Washington Internet Daily and its Warren Communications News sister publications, including Communications Daily (http://www.communicationsdaily.com/), have won many journalism awards for coverage of these beats. The successful applicant will be expected to write forward-looking stories every day on what’s happening behind the scenes in key Internet regulatory agencies.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
