This position entails covering national and international business trends as well as corporate decisions and market moves. At its core is reporting on the impact that policy decisions in Washington have on Corporate America. Legislation and regulations affect the decisions that businesses make about their planning, growth, product lines, location, and much more. Washington policymakers have an outsized impact on business tax planning, capitalization, revenues, and profits. We want to report on all of this.
Our ideal candidate will be able to read balance sheets and federal regulations to find the type of news other outlets miss. Excellent reporting and writing skills, a commitment to high-impact, straight news, an eye for a story and interest in real people are essential. The Washington Examiner is driving record traffic to its website, and we want you to help drive more, as well as to contribute long-form pieces to our magazine. This is an exciting and vibrant place to work as we expand our newsroom and invest in high-quality journalism.
