The Washington Diplomat, a digital and print magazine centered around the international community in D.C., is seeking a contributing writer with an interest in world affairs, politics, U.S. foreign policy, diplomacy, and arts and culture. Freelance contributors and part-time positions can be considered.

This position requires writers to have a solid understanding of global issues and be capable of interviewing foreign and U.S. government officials, cultivating sources, and meeting deadlines. On top of that, we are searching for culture writers who could highlight the local arts scene.

Freelancers will receive around one to two assignments each month; news stories vary in length from 1,000 to 2,000 words, and pay ranges from $150 to $500 per story. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience writing for a publication.

Must be based in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Interested applicants are requested to send their resumes and three recently published clips to news@washdiplomat.com.
