Wall Street Journal seeks a senior translation editor, Tokyo

The Wall Street Journal is seeking an experienced translator and leader to bring The Wall Street Journal’s coverage to life in Japanese and help manage a group of translators and editors.

In this position, you will help ensure the top quality of the Japanese Wall Street Journal, our online Japanese language edition. You will be expected to render our coverage in sophisticated Japanese that replicates the reading experience of the original English language story, as well as help less experienced colleagues produce similar work and edit and publish their output. You will use your news judgement to survey the pool of our published articles and pick those that are strongest and most appropriate for our Japanese audience. You will also curate the website as needed.

You will need to demonstrate a strong command of English, excellent Japanese writing skills, and an interest in and knowledge of global issues. Editing skills are required, as is experience working in the newsroom of a major international publication.
