Vox seeks technology, economy and business editor

October 11, 2016

Posted by Chris Roush

VoxVox.com is a user’s guide to the news, helping readers make sense of everything from politics to the loopholes in corporate tax policy to NASA’s Pluto mission. We want to create the single best resource for news consumers anywhere.

We believe that to understand the economy, you have to understand technology – and vice versa. That’s why we’ve launched a new section, New Money, to explore technology, the economy and business under one umbrella. Much of the current coverage of these subjects is written for discrete audiences. We believe there’s a smart, eager audience waiting to be reached where these beats meet.

We are looking for an editor who can help our writers tell smart, creative, engaging stories that go deep on key themes, ideas and details. The position is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial journalist to help shape and build a growing coverage area at Vox.com.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least four years editing experience
  • A deep passion for and expertise in technology, economics or, ideally, both
  • A track record of assigning and editing stories that perform online
  • An entrepreneurial spirit

If this describes you, please send: a cover letter that includes links to three stories you’ve assigned and edited, a resume and three story ideas you’d assign this week if you ran tech and economic coverage at Vox.com.

We prefer this position to be based in DC; however, we’re open to NYC for the right candidate. Please let us know in your cover letter if you’re unable to perform this position in DC.
