Volteface is looking for writers

Volteface is accepting pitches for our website on this recent psilocybin study and what it means for psychedelic therapy. No particular deadline but the sooner the better – we’re always looking to commission pieces.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Volteface is an independent research and advocacy organisation that seeks to reduce the harm drugs pose to individuals and society, through evidence-based policy reform. It cultivates fresh thinking and new ideas through our policy reports and online magazine.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

More information: Interesting evidence on the use of psilocybin-assisted treatment: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35166158/. Substantial anti-depressant effects lasting at a 12 month follow-up after an acute intervention. No adverse effects and no reported use of psilocybin outside the context of the study.

COMPENSATION

  • ~$170 for pieces between 800 and 1200 words and $270 for longer reads up to 2000 words.
