Verywell Health seeks freelance writers

Verywell Health is looking for freelancers to write evergreen articles focused on disease, conditions, and treatments.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

With over 300 Million annual readers, Verywell Health seeks to answer their readers most important health questions with our expert-written, medically-reviewed articles across hundreds of health topics. They have a Medial Review Board of board-certified physicians that vets every one of their articles to give their readers confidence in the next steps for better health. Their writers are industry experts, including healthcare professionals and health journalists, who write and continually update our 16,000+ article library.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a writer for Verywell, you should be able to navigate complicated topics and present them in a way that is understandable for a lay audience while providing actionable next steps for all levels. You must be able to take complicated health topics and present them in an understandable, approachable, and SEO-friendly way (not a news position)

We are looking specifically for writers who:

  • Have a health or medical background, proven by credentials (e.g. PharmD, LPN, RN, MPH)
  • Are medical journalists with proven experience writing for a consumer audience
  • Have experience and/or are comfortable covering public health issues
  • You must be authorized to work in the US.
  • We require research and primary sources, like journals, but interviews are not required.

We are actively recruiting PharmD writers to cover pharmaceutical drugs.

COMPENSATION

Flat rate of $250 per article.

Owned by Dotdash, Verywell has a traditional freelance model that pays writers to create content on their own schedule without limiting their ability to work on other projects.
