Upstream, the international oil and gas weekly newspaper, is seeking an energetic, focused journalist to join its North American bureau as a full-time reporter in Houston, Texas.
We are eager to consider applications from seasoned veterans as well as relative newcomers to the industry. The job requires the successful applicant to acquire and analyze information on oil & gas companies and their primary contractors as well as monitor political and market developments to generate accurate and insightful stories for both web and print publication.
Candidates should be able to work independently to produce consistent, clean news copy under tight deadlines. Regional and international travel is likely.
Candidates should possess a degree in journalism and/or equivalent reporting experience. Knowledge of the oil & gas industry is preferable, but not required, as is proficiency in a second language and experience in social media and multi-media reporting.
