Univision seeks an anchor/reporter

The News Department at Televisa Univision is looking for an Anchor/Reporter to join our team

Responsibilities:

  • Be the on-air representative of the station who has served the Spanish community for 60 years, this is the job for you
  • This position will work closely with the VP, News or Assistant News Director to conceptualize, coordinate and approve story packages to conform to station policies, practices and procedures
  • You are excited about preparing and alerting the community, providing up to the minute news stories
  • Relentlessly tracking all Weather and Spotlighting stories in the community

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with legal team and working knowledge of local, state and federal laws, as they relate to investigations, undercover reporting and hidden cameras
  • Ability to gather news information and prepare it for on air delivery, for online and for mobile applications
  • Proven ability to think on your feet during live shots and great story telling skills
  • Strong knowledge of public records laws and computer assisted reporting
  • Strong knowledge of journalistic ethics and libel laws
  • Must be able to handle deadlines and pressure well
  • Strong knowledge of social networking regarding content gathering and distribution

Skills:

  • Must be PC proficient – Word, Excel and Outlook, social media
  • I-News as well as basic editing skills
  • Candidates must possess strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be a team player with solid show/material judgment
  • Requires knowledge of the Hispanic community and traditions
  • Must be fully Bilingual Spanish/English, both written and spoken
  • BA/BS preferred in Journalism/Mass Communications or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years’ reporting experience in Spanish Language Broadcasting preferred (Top 10 market experience is a plus).

Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 + Benefits
