Univision seeks a news producer

The WUVP news team at TelevisaUnivision in the Philadelphia DMA is looking for a News Producer to join our team! You will be part of the news team, supporting the planning and implementation of newsroom/station philosophies and strategies. You will be responsible, among other tasks, for short term and long-term editorial planning, implement quality control, ensure proper branding implementation and growing content across multiple distribution platforms. The quality that sets us apart is the connection we have with our community; candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, with dynamic live television skills. You will report to the News Director.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be part of the news team, supporting the planning and implementation of newsroom/station philosophies and strategies
  • You will be responsible, among other tasks, for short term and long-term editorial planning, implement quality control, ensure proper branding implementation and growing content across multiple distribution platforms
  • You will provide editorial direction, motivation, support, and encouragement to reporters/multimedia journalists
  • You will actively participate in editorial meetings and manage the daily flow of content to the station’s platforms
  • You will be crafting newscast including stacking, writing, editing copy, in-studio moves, and ordering graphics
  • You will write and/or supervise the writing of newsbreaks, teasers, and headlines while overseeing production of reports and implement mechanisms for quality control
  • You will be responsible for the planning and execution of special assignments as series, events, and election coverage, as well as any other Special Project as needed by the News Department
  • You will lead the process from the control room during live broadcasts, remotes, continuous coverage, and breaking news situations
  • Must maintain close communication with News Director
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • You are a seasoned journalist in love with breaking news and weather coverage, ready to be a driver of change in the newsroom
  • You are accustomed to working well under extreme deadlines and multi-tasking to excel in a fast-paced, content-driven environment
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in broadcast news
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in both English and Spanish
  • Ability to prioritize projects and motivate team members to execute with high regard for details
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, INews, and other newsroom computer systems and applications used for producing newscasts
  • High ethical journalistic standards and legal broadcast journalistic principles
  • Must be willing to work from office in Newfield, NJ
  • Employment/education will be verified
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
