Twin Cities Business seeks a senior writer

Twin Cities Business seeks a self-starting, versatile reporter with business savvy to contextualize news about companies, industries and the economy for the business community.

Experience covering finance, tech, public companies, commercial real estate, investing, entrepreneurship or other aspects business news is a plus, but the main criteria is reporting and editorial writing experience. TCB’s senior writer contributes to online and print, helping to make sense of the latest business news developments and also taking a step back to go beyond the headlines in feature-length magazine articles.

Qualifications:
– Strong editorial judgement
– Ability to write well-sourced, thorough, and informative articles that engage an educated reader
– Ability to develop sources and provide context and perspective

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
