We’re hiring a political reporter to aggressively cover national politics in the TPM tradition.
TPM’s most pressing coverage areas include the rise of the authoritarian GOP, the return of Trump, anti-democracy extremism, the attack on voting rights, the undermining of election administration, the new conservative-dominated Supreme Court, and the other major political and historical trends of the day.
- Applicants should have 3-5 years of reporting experience
- Be hungry to break big stories
- Be ready to mix good old-fashioned reporting skills and digital native tools to identify stories, grab hold of them and not let go until there’s no more news left in them to report.
- Fine writing skills
- Keen insights
- Incisive analysis
- Flexibility to work across various platforms and media are essential elements of the role.
This is a NYC or DC based position.
