The editor will work with TheStreet.com editors and contributors to produce clear, engaging columns and news stories on a variety of business and general interest topics.
Responsibilities:
• Will be able to write compelling, provocative headlines in real time.
• Assign stories to editors and contributors based on the current news cycle.
• Fact-check all content prior to publication and keep the quality of work to a high standard.
• Edit and proofread copy on the site.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a newsroom focusing on business news
• The editor must be skilled at editing sharp, intelligent prose for a wide audience.
• Need experience in markets with an understanding of stock valuation and investment practices.
• Time spent in the trenches of business reporting is essential.
• A desire to write and report stories and columns is also a plus.
