TheStreet.com seeks bankruptcy reporter

TheStreet is seeking a bankruptcy reporter who will be responsible for contributing content to both TheStreet.com and The Deal’s bankruptcy products.

This is a fast-paced and innovative environment, often with multiple competing deadlines, so the ability to diligently multi-task is an invaluable skill.

Responsibilities:
• Write and report daily bankruptcy-related stories
• Write and report bankruptcy-related features
• Take on special assignments, as necessary

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, or related field
• 3+ business journalism experience
• Advanced understanding of financial news and knowledge of current events is a must, especially with regard to Bankruptcy
• Possess an understanding and interest of the stock market and Wall Street
• Prior journalistic experience in an online or print medium at a recognized news organization
• Ability to write quickly, concisely and accurately under daily deadlines
• Focused, organized, industrious and inquisitive

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
