TheStreet is seeking an associate editor to be responsible for editing the company’s premium subscription products.
These include contributions to the websites Real Money and Real Money Pro and a suite of newsletters. The ideal candidate must exhibit confidence, a strong knowledge base and professionalism to interact with some of the biggest names in investing. This is a fast-paced and innovative environment, often with multiple competing deadlines, so the ability to diligently multi-task is an invaluable skill. Evening work will be required.
The candidate must have strong organization, interpersonal and writing/editing skills, and excellent news judgment. A solid understanding of the online new business is also essential.
Other responsibilities include:
• Work with outside contributors and internal writers/ portfolio managers to develop and edit content for subscription products.
• Produce content across a number of different content management systems.
• Write headlines, callouts and descriptions of content and work with colleagues on creating social-media-friendly content.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
• 3-5 years of experience as either an editor at a financial journalism organization or at an investment bank
• Keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet constant, up-to-the-minute deadlines
• Must have advanced knowledge and understanding of financial news and current events
• Excellent writing and editorial skills
• Focused, organized, industrious and inquisitive
• Experience writing about the stock market, bond markets or options a plus.
