The York Dispatch, an award-winning Pennsylvania newspaper, has an exciting opportunity for a copy editor and page designer to work locally or remotely on our copy desk in York, Pennsylvania.
The ideal candidate:
- Has the ability to quickly and accurately design dynamic covers on deadline along with solid knowledge of AP style and grammar. T
- Must also have above average attention to detail and the ability to write succinct headlines for news, features, sports and opinion pieces.
- Must understand that the copy desk is also responsible for editing and packaging news content for our website and social media sites
- Must be able to work in a digital-first and highly competitive copy flow environment
- Must be able to work in dynamic content-management systems.
- Must have digital experience, knowledge of CUE pagination programs and Presto Suite CMS is an asset.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in print page design, social media promotion and digital content management.
