The Washington Post is looking for a nimble and versatile reporter to join its national politics breaking news team.
The breaking news team anchors some of The Post’s biggest political stories of the day and helps lead our real-time coverage of major events, such as presidential addresses, congressional votes, Supreme Court decisions, candidate debates and election nights.
We are seeking a reporter with a strong track record of writing with authority, accuracy and precision on tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have the proven ability to move quickly among topics, as well as an expertise in politics to apply smart context to fast-developing stories.
In addition, this reporter must have strong organizational and communication skills.
This position is based in our Washington newsroom and could include some evening work.
