The San Franciscan is looking for local talent/perspectives to feature and now’s your chance to be featured. We are now accepting pitches for Issue 6, planned for spring/summer 2022.
Deadline: 31 March 2022
ABOUT THE COMPANY
The San Franciscan is an independent magazine that celebrates the diverse subcultures of San Francisco and the Bay Area through humor and criticism, but always with sincerity and pride. We publish literary journalism including short- and long-form reported pieces, reviews featuring cultural commentary or critique, profiles, data visualizations, and more.
WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION
Please include a short bio (50 words or fewer) and 1-2 clips of previously published work.
We have very limited space for personal essays and prefer essays that include a reported angle. Nonfiction pitches should clearly describe the author’s idea, unique angle, and connection to the topic. Full submissions are welcome, but one- to two-paragraph pitches are preferred. Review past issues for guidance on style and tone
