The Recorder, a daily online and weekly print publication focused on the intersection of law and technology, has an opening for a full-time business reporter in the Bay Area.
We are looking for someone to pitch in on breaking news while building out a beat covering legal education, junior lawyers and law-focused startups. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling daily news coverage while crafting smart features and cultivating sources.
You must have journalism training and strong writing skills. Some daily newsroom experience is a plus, as is knowledge of and/or interest in legal and business topics. But most important is the drive to chase scoops, excel on a beat, and hone your reporting and writing skills.
To apply, email the following to Managing Editor Vanessa Blum ( vblum@alm.com ):
• Cover letter
• Resume
• Three clips that show you can break news, write engaging features, and turn smart analysis.
• Links to your Twitter or LinkedIn feeds and any multimedia samples you want us to consider.
