In addition to covering the deals, the publication aims through its reporting to weave a tapestry of the
characters that make the market – the developers with skyscraper dreams, the politicians who kiss their rings and all the assorted hustlers in between.
The reporter would be responsible for writing several original web stories per week on the L.A. real-estate beat, produce in-depth features for the website and our quarterly magazine, and aggregate the biggest industry news from other publications.
The ideal candidate would have an interest in covering money and power and a keen desire to learn how the industry brings together elements of politics, business, entertainment, finance and law. The ability to break news is a must, as is the ability to cultivate sources, pitch story ideas and write clean copy on deadline. Experience in business journalism is a plus.
This is a full-time position based at TRD’s West Hollywood office.
