The Post and Courier, winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service and a Pulitzer finalist six times since 2011, is looking for an editor to run our Hilton Head Island/Beaufort newsroom.
We value our relationship with our readers, and we believe in the old-school idea that investing in our journalism leads to more readers and more revenue. As one of the few independent, family-owned papers left in the United States, we have expanded newsrooms across South Carolina in recent years.
In our Hilton Head Island/Beaufort newsroom, we emphasize narrative, long-form journalism. Telling great stories in this growing and vibrant seacoast region that is steeped with history is our trademark.
This position will oversee three reporters and will operate as a player / coach, writing your own narrative, long-form stories.
We are looking for journalists with demonstrated ability to produce high-caliber journalism who are critical thinkers with writing skills that can make difficult topics easy for readers to understand.
If you’re up to the challenge, send a resume, a cover letter and at least 3-5 samples of your work to Managing Editor-Expansion Andy Shain at ashain@postandcourier.com.
