The Paducah Sun and our associated weekly newspapers have an immediate opening for an editor. You must also be a strong storyteller.
As an editor you will work with a newsroom filled with Multi-Platform Journalists. You will teach, coach and help lead journalists reporting and writing for our newspapers, magazines, websites, television newscasts and social media.
As a storyteller, you know how to balance hard news reporting with the emotional stories of the people that make up our communities. You are a writer that enterprises your own stories. You look beyond the event in front of you and find the effects this event will have on the communities you write about. Your byline will be attached to creative, compelling, and relatable content that appears across our network of six newspapers in Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois, and NBC affiliate WPSD Local 6.
Have curiosity. Have passion. Have a sense of urgency.
Part of your week will be spent assisting the Executive Editor in copy editing and budgeting content for our weekly papers. We prefer you to have at least a year’s experience as an editor.
This is a full-time position with benefits. Submit your resume, references, and writing samples to Executive Editor Perry Boxx at PBoxx@PaducahSun.com.
