The News-Gazette, a medium-sized daily in a Big Ten town, is looking for an innovative reporter with a knack for creative storytelling to join a newsroom that’s been named best in its class by the Illinois Press Association eight of the last nine years.
While this is a general assignment beat, there is an emphasis on local business reporting. Experienced candidates are welcome as are fresh-out-of-school journalism grads; we have a mix of both in our vibrant, multi-media shop that includes three radio stations.
Besides contributing to our print, online and social media efforts, the role includes overseeing our Central Illinois Business magazine, which publishes six times a year.
This will be our fourth newsroom hire in 2023.
