The New York Times seeks San Francisco bureau chief

The ideal candidate would have a deep interest in the San Francisco Bay Area and a strong understanding of the issues that are playing out across California and neighboring states.

We are looking for a skilled writer who is adept at covering major breaking news, producing larger think pieces and crafting stylish features. The ideal candidate would have a track record of cultivating sources, obtaining public records and delivering scoops. We are seeking someone who embraces a true range of stories and turnaround times and is eager to experiment with different forms of journalism.
