The Morning is looking for an editor who’s excited about helping lead a close-knit, energetic team and shaping the world’s biggest and most influential newsletter, which is also one of The Times’s most-read pieces of journalism. The ideal candidate must be a strong editor – both conceptually and stylistically – with particular skill at producing clear, conversational writing. The editor will work as a deputy to David Leonhardt, overseeing The Morning’s staff of about 10 people, spread across the U.S. and London. The editor will also be The Morning’s main point of contact for the rest of the newsroom and will regularly edit other Times reporters when they write lead items for the newsletter. The deputy will also oversee The Morning’s Saturday and Sunday editions. We hope to attract creative, collegial candidates who have ideas for making The Morning an even stronger newsletter.
