The New York Times Washington Bureau is seeking a senior staff editor to work nights Sunday through Thursday. The editor should be comfortable editing a wide variety of Washington news, including stories on the White House, Congress, the military, the intelligence agencies, the Justice Department, the State Department, the Supreme Court, health care, economics and more.
The editor should be able to guide reporters, work with other editors in Washington and across The Times and collaborate with other Times departments, including photo, video and graphics. The editor should be able to handle breaking news as well as longer enterprise. The editor should be calm and steady on deadline and be a collaborative colleague.

The annual base pay salary for this role is between $120,126.82 and $125,000.00.
