Experience with political coverage and knowledge of the subject matter is important. Candidates should be thoughtful editors who can move quickly without sacrificing accuracy and tone.
This position entails monitoring our competitors and other sources of political news, communicating swiftly and effectively with other politics editors as well as other newsroom departments, helping to get breaking news reporters launched on stories and first-editing or second-editing those stories, and others, as they land.
