The Las Vegas Sun seeks a general assignment reporter

The Las Vegas Sun and Greenspun Media Group are seeking a General Assignment Reporter.

We are looking for candidates with the flexibility to report on multiple coverage areas, from the casino industry to elections and health care.

We want someone who is as comfortable covering a city council meeting as they are interviewing state and national political figures.

This is a job for a motivated reporter who will become one of the most widely followed journalists in our market and who has an opportunity to build a solid body of work. If something significant happens in Las Vegas, you’ll have a chance to report on it.

Your work will also appear in Las Vegas Weekly, the city’s leading news, arts, entertainment and culture publication.

Our successful candidate will have at least two years of experience covering news in a midsize city or large metro area, a grasp of submitting records requests and the ability to produce content ranging from breaking news to long-form narratives.

The candidate will also have strong critical thinking, problem-solving and reporting skills.
