The Information seeks a reporter to cover the creator economy

The Information is seeking a reporter to cover the booming creator economy, made up of the tens of millions of individuals building major businesses off technology platforms and the ecosystems around them.

The wealth generated by individual creators and the ways Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and dozens of other services are driving that growth is a hugely important business story, watched closely by tech and media executives and investors. Creators are trendsetters in every area of digital business and culture. They are also the fastest-growing segment of the small business economy. Yet information about them and the ecosystem remains minimal and fragmented.

This reporter will be a leading voice on the topic by publishing a regular newsletter based on original reporting and analysis. The reporter will also publish articles in The Information and contribute to our events, working closely with our global team of tech and media reporters.

The ideal candidate will have several years of reporting experience on a beat as well as the hustle and passion required to anchor a newsletter. An interest in the topic and desire to get in-the-weeds is also a must.

This is an opportunity to join the growing team of journalists at The Information, writing about what’s important in tech and media for a discerning audience. Founded in 2013, The Information has attracted tens of thousands of paying subscribers—putting the business on firm footing—including some of the most influential people on the planet.

Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter to jobs@theinformation.com. We strongly encourage people from traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, particularly people of color.
