The Guardian is looking for writers to contribute content that focuses on deeply reported stories with a narrative arc, great characters, good dialogue, and that pesky thing called “good writing”.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Guardian US covers news for an online, global audience. It aims to give people the facts, reveal new information and challenge the powerful.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

  • $0.60 and $1/word-  2,000 to 4,000 words (note: I only published one story above 7,000 words this year). Rates depend on experience and expertise; length of reporting; access negotiations; time spent researching and investigating; etc.
