Journo Jobs

The Guardian is looking for writers

We’re looking for pitches for the Guardian US’s “Guns & Lies in America” series. We cover all forms of gun violence, from mass shootings to daily incidents, and always highlight the people who are most impacted by shootings. The story should focus on the States but there’s always flexibility depending on the story.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Guardian US covers news for an online, global audience. It aims to give people the facts, reveal new information and challenge the powerful. Guns & Lies is the Guardian’s series that investigates the programs that have successfully contributed to preventing gun violence and the people who work to address the trauma that comes with shootings.

We publish a range of story types and formats, from news features to enterprise stories, investigative reporting, Q&As, comment pieces, first-person accounts, photo essays, data visualizations, and audio and video stories. We’re also interested in projects with a community engagement component, which amplify the experiences of gun violence interrupters and survivors.
